Tooth Extraction Service

Pride Smile Dental Clinic provides professional tooth extraction services performed by experienced dentists. We treat and resolve dental problems when a tooth can no longer be preserved, including severe tooth decay, broken or cracked teeth, infected teeth, extra teeth, or teeth that interfere with orthodontic treatment. Tooth extraction helps prevent the spread of infection and effectively relieves pain.

Before the procedure, our dentist will conduct a thorough examination, including taking X-rays to assess the tooth’s position and the condition of the jawbone. This ensures that the extraction is safe, minimally painful, and reduces the risk of complications. After the extraction, we carefully monitor the healing process and provide detailed post-operative instructions to promote faster recovery and minimize bleeding, swelling, or infection.

At Pride Smile Dental Clinic, we use gentle extraction techniques to reduce tissue trauma and prioritize patient comfort, ensuring that you receive safe and reassuring care from start to finish.

What is tooth extraction?

Tooth Extraction is the removal of a tooth that cannot be preserved, whether due to severe decay, fractures, cracks, infection, looseness caused by gum disease, or improper positioning that interferes with other treatments such as orthodontics.

Tooth extraction is a dental procedure performed by a dentist under local anesthesia, so you will feel little to no pain during the process. It helps maintain overall oral health, prevents the spread of infection, and relieves severe pain caused by problematic teeth.

Is tooth extraction really dangerous?

In general, tooth extraction is not dangerous when performed by a qualified dentist, as there are proper evaluation procedures, X-rays, and post-treatment care. Concerns such as excessive bleeding, infection, or swelling are quite rare and can be prevented by following proper aftercare instructions.

There are several reasons why tooth extraction may be necessary, such as:

  • Severely decayed teeth that cannot be restored

  • Deeply fractured or cracked teeth

  • Infected teeth that have spread and cannot be treated with root canal therapy

  • Extra or crowded teeth that interfere with orthodontic treatment

  • Loose teeth caused by advanced gum disease

  • Impacted teeth or teeth that erupt in the wrong position

Timely tooth extraction helps prevent complications from worsening, such as chronic pain, gum inflammation, or infection of the jawbone.

How to take care of yourself after tooth extraction

After a tooth extraction, you should take proper care of yourself to help the wound heal faster, reduce swelling and bleeding, and minimize the risk of infection:

Immediately after the procedure

  • Bite on the gauze for 30–45 minutes to stop the bleeding.
  • Avoid excessive talking or rinsing your mouth forcefully.

During the first 24 hours

  • Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
  • Avoid drinking through a straw.
  • Do not smoke or consume alcohol.
  • Avoid hot, spicy, crunchy, or sticky foods.

After 1–3 days

  • Eat soft foods such as porridge, soup, or steamed egg.
  • Brush your teeth as usual, but avoid the extraction site.
  • If you experience pain, take the medication as prescribed by your dentist.
